I’ve always been passionate about making spaces beautiful, and after people started asking me to help them with their homes, I decided to put my passion into action.
I was inspired by my grandmothers: one was a collector (Fern); the other, a creator (Margaret, which means Pearl).
I am both. I am both Pearls and Ferns.
I am a fern that sprawls wild fronds in every direction, yet I am an orderly string of pearls, meticulous and shimmering.
My own home reflects this spirit. It is my haven. It is full of sprawling collections I inherited from my Grandma Fern—elephants, perfume bottles, birch wood, mirrors, keys, and cribbage boards. It is full of meticulous creations from my Grandma Margaret—crocheted throws, embroidered dish towels, lacy doilies, and a candlewicked blanket that hangs on my banister as art. My home is a tribute to my family, and it is beautiful.
I believe in beauty. I believe that we are uplifted when we’re surrounded by it, and I want to help people achieve that feeling in their own homes.
Beauty is relaxing. Beauty is peaceful. Beauty brings joy.
We spend so much time in our homes. Shouldn’t they be our havens?
